Stolen Passport Help

Here's what to do if you ever find yourself in my situation:

. Report your passport stolen to the police and make sure they give you a report or a crime reference number, you'll need it for your lost passport form.

. Go onto your governments website and fill in what ever documents they say you need to fill in. For me it was just what they call a LS01, this is where they ask for the crime reference number.

. If you need to travel then you must apply for an emergency passport, how to get one is different for different countries. The British embassy will only supply you with an emergency passport if you have proof of travel, and about £130 so bring this along with you to the embassy when you go to hand in your lost passport form.

. If you don't need to travel then you can apply online for a new passport at https://passportapplication.service.gov.uk/ips-olc/ this will cost you around £80 and at the end of the application you will need to print off the declaration and post it to them with two recent passport photographs, one signed as a true likeness of you by your countersignature. This is different for different counties.

. If you have no money and need to travel urgently then you have a very tricky situation. I was not in this situation but I have read your embassy may actually help you on this. Read this page for advice https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/banking/you-ve-run-out-of-money-abroad/
